Look for OKM (Jena, Germany) at this year's IMTS in booth D-4742 in September to unveil the "Closed-Loop Solution" for manufacturers faced with the challenge of measuring parts with a rotary or 4th-axis.
On display, OKM will show for the first time in the North American market, the ACCURE 6-axis Multi-sensor coordinate measuring system. OKM will demonstrate its collaboration with
Esco, a supplier of CAD equipment and software, to provide solutions that integrate CAD/CAM and measurement with the manufacturing process.
Manufacturers in the tooling, hob, gear, and diamond abrasive industries utilizing this technology can realize a time savings in manufacturing of over 60%. This is accomplished by importing a CAD file to the "Hawk" software package. Utilizing the CAD file, "Hawk" creates an inspection program. After the part is manufactured and inspected on the OKM Accure system, the inspection data is compared against the nominal data with the CAD file and offset data is created. This data is fed back to the machine controller and the part is manufactured complete. This saves multiple inspection and offset operations that were required in the past.

is the exclusive import agent for the OKM-Jena
line of Gage Calibration and Vision Measuring instruments.
In that role, we are responsible for all of the sales,

Optische
Koordinatenmesstechnik GmbH, or OKM-Jena, was
established on October 1, 1997 through a management buyout
from the Carl Zeiss Foundation. Until that time, the
organization operated as the OKM division of Carl Zeiss IMT
in Jena, Germany. Although a "new" company, OKM-Jena
has been developing and manufacturing high-precision optical
and mechanical measuring instruments (like the ULM 600) for
80 years. Today, OKM-Jena's scope of business consists of
R&D, assembly, sales and after-sales service of the
following lines of measuring instruments -- their world
renowned gage calibration equipment (the ULM 600
series), their new granite bed ULM OPAL and the
laser-based ULM RUBIN gage calibration series, and
their optical coordinate measuring instruments (the ZKM, the
UNI-VIS, the ACCURE and the
PLANARIS series).
